FAQ
CutAgent FAQ
Short answers to what people ask before and after their first edit. If your question isn't here, contact support.
What is CutAgent?
CutAgent is an automatic video editor for short-form video, operated by GML Software LLC. You upload the raw takes of a talking-head video, and it returns a finished vertical short: pauses and retakes removed, captions added and the speaker framed for 9:16.
How does the automatic edit work?
Upload your clips and, if you like, supporting images, then choose captions, framing and animations. CutAgent transcribes what you say, keeps the best take of each sentence, removes the pauses, adds captions and zooms, and renders the video for you to review and download.
Do I need to know how to edit?
No. Upload your clips and CutAgent makes the edit: it keeps the best takes, frames you, and adds captions, zooms and your images. The editor is there only if you want to change something.
What kind of videos does it work for?
Videos where you talk to the camera: tips, explanations, reviews and stories. Record one or several takes; pauses, retakes and mistakes are cut out.
Does it work in my language?
Yes. CutAgent detects the language you speak and captions your words as you say them.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. CutAgent runs in the browser on your phone or computer, with nothing to install.
What happens to my videos?
They are used to make your edit. CutAgent does not use your raw videos or transcripts to train general AI models, and deleting your account removes your content within 24 hours.
How is CutAgent different from CapCut or Opus Clip?
CapCut is a manual editor: you build the edit yourself on a timeline. Opus Clip cuts short clips out of long videos. CutAgent takes the raw takes you recorded for a short and returns the finished video, with an editor only if you want it.
What do I get at the end?
A vertical video with captions, ready to post on Reels, Shorts and TikTok.
Do I need an account?
Yes, and it takes seconds: sign up with your email or Google. Your projects, uploads and credits stay with your account on any device.
How much does CutAgent cost?
CutAgent uses credits: creating an AI edit and exporting a video use credits, and the app shows the estimated cost before you spend them. New accounts get free credits for their first edit. A Pro plan, monthly or annual, adds 1,000 credits a month, and Pro members can buy extra credit packs. Current prices are shown in the app.
Read the billing termsCan I cancel my plan?
Yes. A cancelled plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Paid credits never expire: when the plan ends they are kept, and you can spend them again if you resubscribe.
Which files can I upload?
Videos in MP4, M4V or MOV format, and supporting images in JPEG, PNG or WebP. CutAgent frames the speaker for 9:16, so you can record vertically or horizontally.
Does CutAgent post to my social accounts?
No. You review the finished video, download it and post it yourself on Reels, Shorts, TikTok or anywhere else, so you decide what gets published.
How does CutAgent compare with other video tools?
Most tools give you a manual timeline or cut clips out of long videos. CutAgent edits the takes you record for a short into a finished video. Our comparisons with CapCut, Descript, Instagram Edits, OpusClip and Submagic explain when each one is the better choice.
Read the comparisonsHow do I delete my account and videos?
You can delete your account in the app. CutAgent then removes your projects, source media, renders and account data within 24 hours.
Read the data retention policyIs CutAgent related to cutagent.ai?
